APPLICATIONS OF ELECTRICAL PANELS FOR HEATERS AND ELECTRIC DUCT HEATERS

REART electrical panels are used in various industrial sectors, including:

Electrical Panels for Safe Area

Electrical Panels for Safe Area are specifically designed to control and monitor heaters and electric duct heaters.

All the panels are subjected to Reart internal tests before delivery in compliance with the EN 61439-1 standard, with the issue of the test report and relative certification of conformity.

Technical features

  1. Protection rating IP42 ÷ IP66
  2. Type of control through PID thermoregulators/software with PLC
  3. Management of resistive load up to 5 MW
  4. Control type: ON/OFF or SCR thyristors
  5. Carbon steel or stainless steel structures

Coating according to client’s specifications

  1. Protections with fuses, differential or magnetic switches

Control via SCR provides for a fine adjustment of the operation of the heater and/or of the electric duct heaters within its heating process.

The suppliers for the components are selected from the best brands (ABB, Schneider, AEG, etc.) to provide a product of high quality and ease of maintenance.

Accessories

The Control Panel Heaters can be supplied with relative software and relative PLC with different types of communication with the client’s DCS (Mod-bus, Profibus).

Documents

In addition to the declaration of conformity of the switchboard and the internal test report, all the final certification documentation of the product is provided, including:

  • use and maintenance manual
  • single-wire wiring diagrams
  • multi-wire wiring diagrams
  • technical data sheets of the components used and relative declarations of conformity of the suppliers
  • component list

ELECTRICAL PANELS FOR CLASSIFIED AREAS

Electrical Panels for classified areas are specifically designed to control and manage heaters in Exin Zone 1 and Zone 2 environments. In addition to the electrical panels for Ex classified areas, we also offer the corresponding local heater panel with Atex certification.

Technical features

  1. Protection rating IP42 ÷ IP66
  2. Type of control through PID thermoregulators/software with PLC
  3. Management of the resistive load from a few kw to hundreds of kw
  4. Control type: ON/OFF or SCR thyristors
  5. Carbon steel or stainless steel structures
  6. Coating according to client’s specifications
  7. Protections with fuses, differential or magnetic switches

Documents

The following documentation is provided in the final certification package that accompanies the product:

  • declaration of conformity
  • use and maintenance manual
  • single-wire wiring diagrams
  • multi-wire wiring diagrams
  • technical data sheets of the components used and relative declarations of conformity of the suppliers
  • component list

FAQ - Frequently asked questions about control and command electrical panels

What are the advantages of using electrical panels with SCR thyristors?

SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) thyristors allow more precise and gradual power control, continuously regulating energy output. In electrical panels, SCR thyristors are particularly useful for heaters and systems with high energy consumption. They help to reduce energy waste and extend component service life by ensuring less stress on the electrical system.

A safe area is an environment where hazardous substances such as flammable gases or explosive dusts are not present, eliminating the risk of accidents or explosions. In these areas, electrical panels do not need to be designed to withstand explosive atmospheres, which simplifies the choice of materials and control solutions.

An Atex safe area is an industrial space classified as potentially explosive, where flammable gases, vapours, dusts or other hazardous substances are present. In these areas, electrical panels must comply with Atex directives to ensure that components and electrical connections do not generate sparks or excessive heat, thus preventing accidents. Electrical panels for Atex safe areas are designed with specific protection levels and materials to operate safely in such environments.

Can flanged electric heaters be ATEX certified for potentially explosive areas?
Based on the classification of the installation area, Ex-d marking can be applied, and immersion electric heaters can be built to be suitable for classified areas.

A PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) is a programmable device used to control and automate industrial systems. In electrical panels for Atex safe areas, the PLC ensures safe operation by managing heaters and other equipment, precisely regulating temperature and operating parameters. It also provides real-time monitoring of the system to prevent hazardous situations in explosive environments.
