Solar Thermal
Solar thermal technology is aimed at producing hot water by harnessing solar energy, a clean and renewable source.
Solar thermal systems use specialized panels to absorb heat from sunlight and use it to heat the water in the sanitary circuit. Unlike photovoltaic technology, which converts solar energy into electrical energy, solar thermal generates thermal energy from solar thermal energy.
In solar thermal systems, electric heaters are used to heat the water. These electric heaters play an important role in ensuring a continuous supply of hot water.
Electric resistors play a crucial role in solar thermal systems: Reart provides three models with threaded connections, two of which are installed in the panel itself and serve as an integration to the production when the panel is unable to generate enough hot water to cover the daily demand, during periods of reduced sun exposure, such as at night or on cloudy days.
The third one is used optionally, especially in areas with very low ambient temperatures, to prevent freezing of water in the system or to compensate for the decrease in production as the panel ages.
In this way, the resistors ensure a constant supply of hot water, maintaining the comfort and efficiency of the solar thermal system.
Energy savings guaranteed by solar thermal can vary based on various factors, including the type of solar panel used, its orientation relative to the sun, the correct tilt angle based on latitude, and local climate.
In general, it is estimated that the use of solar thermal systems can lead to energy savings in the range of 30-40% compared to conventional water heating systems. However, this percentage can vary considerably depending on specific conditions.
